It revamps the entire plague & disease system (and adds a new prosperity mechanic) even adding a new holding building which can give boons to prosperity, technology spread, prestige, piety and of course disease resilience.Welcome to r/CrackSupport, a sister subreddit under the ownership of r/CrackWatch. Way of Life i'd pick up second because it allows you to skill up your ruler in specific areas and gives you more control over your heirs upbringing. I'd pick Conclaves over Way of Life since it brings about many law customization options for the realms and enables you to easier grow from within if you'd like to start as a vassal under another ruler. Which are Conclaves & Way of Life, the rest of the expansion do provide other game play features and depth but IMO don't alter the main games flow as dramatically. For the most part that was the only big thing I noticed. It was a tad weird at first not having a council laws and the ruler/heir education system being different. Prior to JD I started a fresh pure vanilla game by turning off my extra content. I'd recommend some of the portrait packs for more variety (or you will stare at the same ones way too often), but for now you can just check out the game as it is. But it's not worth it getting them for that alone Monks and Mystics and Jade Dragon also contain some Quality of Life interface additions that are nice for everyone. And Horse Lords adds the silk road (also available with Jade Dragon) and also turns certain tribals into nomads even if you don't play them, which changes things if you border them. For example Old Gods changes revolts and adventurers. That said, sometimes a DLC contains small features that affect everyone else too. They all add some interesting stuff, but you can do without them for now. Then there are Reaper's Due, Monks and Mystics and Jade Dragon. It's not bad, but a bit overpriced for that It mainly has events around the Franks, but it also adds an earlier start date, viceroyalties (great if you play Byzantium!), custom realms and playable Zunists. You should start the game as a Christian, but Pagans are tons of fun to play.Ĭharlemagne is a bit of an odd one. Rajas of India: Buddhists, Jains and Hindus. The Old Gods: Pagans (including Vikings), Zoroastrians, Khurmzata, earlier start date for everyone With that being said though, I would highly suggest you wait to activate Conclave since Conclaves council mechanics is something you dont want to have to deal with while youre trying to learn everything else, especially because the Council may try to impede in you various ways. These are ones that make religions/governments playable: ![]() Sons of Abraham: religious events for Christians and Muslims, holy orders for everyone, playable Jews.Conclave: more complex internal realm management, reworked laws, new education system that's less predictable.Legacy of Rome: adds a few events and decision for the Byzantines, but retinues (standing armies) for everyone.Way of Life: more events, roleplaying and stuff to do in peace time. Then there are ones that also add new start datesįor DLC that you adds something for everyone, consider these: You need to distinguish between DLC that adds content for everyone and ones that make certain governments and religions playable. ![]()
